Worthington National Bank

Worthington National Bank is an American community bank in the state of Texas, United States. The Tarrant County-based bank offers a variety of banking services and loans to businesses and consumers. Founded in Tarrant County in November 2002, Worthington National Bank became a member of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, certifying the North Texas institution would have operational security and soundness.
In 2010, Worthington National Bank was listed on the “Move Your Money” database, a resource designed to assist consumers in transferring funds from larger banks that relied on government bailout funds into strong, local banks. Worthington National Bank was also recognized as a Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year in 2010.
With locations in Fort Worth, Colleyville and Arlington, Worthington National Bank's business strategy emphasizes the importance of being financially viable without the assistance of government bailouts. Worthington disagrees with divvying out large cash bonuses, and continually encourages consumers to transfer their money from big banks to a locally-owned and operated bank.
Worthington National Bank participated in a successful advertising campaign in response to the government bailout in 2008. The billboards featured phrases like “Don’t feed the animals big banks,” “Did Your Bank Take a Bailout? We Didn’t” and “Just Say No to Bailout Banks. Bank Responsibly.” The billboards have been featured in articles by the ''Wall Street Journal'', ''New York Times'' and included in marketing textbooks like ''Business'', 8th edition by authors Ferrell/Hirt/Ferrell as an example of timely advertising.
